ROBOTIC CODING WORKSHOP

ROBOTIC CODING WORKSHOP

It is the coding for controlling and directing the movements of a robot. The object we are coding is a robot. We need concretization to learn and teach abstract concepts more easily. Therefore, the use of robots in education makes learning more effective. What is done is coding again. However, this time, what we encode is a tangible object that we can touch, measure the distance it takes with a ruler, and replace its battery.

For children who are just getting out of the concrete period, it is very important that what they encode has their feet in the real world. Robots provide the opportunity to plan real-world activities that will make it concrete to understand abstract concepts such as distance, speed, time, environment, diameter, heat, angle, light and similar that should be taught in education.

The planned robotic activities can be planned in accordance with the achievements in the fields of mathematics and science. However, even when planning only for a concept in the field of mathematics, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields are covered due to the nature of robotic activity and coding.

At this point, while achieving a targeted achievement in mathematics, the abilities of systematic thinking, problem solving and seeing the relationships between events develop simultaneously during the robot construction and coding stages.
